Parents Night Out on the Town
Night Out on the Town – Living in Durango means that your house will always be full of visitors, especially around the holidays. Well, the holidays are officially over! For most of you, that means your house is back to normal for the first time in a month or more. We love to see our families. We also love to see them go. Celebrate normal with a night out on the town!
The holidays are a great time for making memories but Mommies and Daddies have had a lot of “togetherness” since the kids started Christmas break. Durango 9-R School District is back in session. Another reason to celebrate!
Call the friends you’ve been neglecting and plan a parent’s night out on the town.
Need some ideas? Start with a hand crafted cocktail and yummy appetizer at El Moro Tavern. Relax, take your time and enjoy an adult conversation without interruption. Peruse Maria’s Bookshop across the street or an art gallery at your leisure without any in-laws or children. Better yet, be a tourist and try to find your favorite coffee mug or shot glass. Speaking of tourist-y things Durangoans never do, take the carriage ride in front of the Strater! You just might learn something new about our historic little town.
For dinner, pop into any of our awesome restaurants and don’t skip the wine pairing. If you are not yawning yet, use your ears to find some Live Music. Nothing completes a night out on the town better than listening to a great band. Call us when you are ready to get home or meet us at a prearranged pick up time. Ground Transportation to and from Authentic Living Heartland
Buck Horn Limousine has partnered with Authentic Living Heartland to provide ground transportation between the Durango/La Plata County airport and the retreat center in Dolores, CO. We can not help you organize carpooling, however you are free to reach out to other travelers using the Authentic Living Facebook page.
The rate for a car is $185.00 including gratuity. The charge is the same for 1-3 passengers. After you book your ride you are free to share the car with other retreat visitors and share the expense with them. We can not assist with organizing carpools. If you share the car you will be charged full price and it is your responsibility to collect the fare from other passengers.
The rate for a van is $275.00 including gratuity. The charge is the same for 1-6 passengers. After you book your ride you are free to share the car with other retreat visitors and share the expense with them. We can not assist with organizing carpools. For arrivals, simply post your arrival time and flight number including the date. Or you can browse posts from other travelers.
For departures, keep in mind that the drive to the airport is one hour and 10 minutes. The airport recommends arriving at the airport for departures 90 minutes prior. Calculate leaving the retreat center no less than two and one half hours prior to your flight time.
Buck Horn offers the lowest rates and has the most 5 star ratings in Southwest Colorado.
Groups of 3 or more with a large amount of luggage will require the use of our van.
Cancellations
We charge a 25% cancellation fee during peak season from June 1, to October 15th.
“No-shows” or cancellations within 24 hours will be billed at full price.
Uber is not recommended
Uber is not popular in this area and that limits availability. Also, they do not have a strong presence at the Durango-La Plata airport and will most likely have to come from Durango which is at least 25 minutes away.

Job Description:
Buck Horn is hiring a Full-Time Day Driver. We are seeking an individual who is mature, honest, spontaneous, and self motivated, in addition to being responsible and reliable. Primary activities include completing all PUC required paperwork, inspecting, fueling, cleaning and detailing vehicles in addition to answering phone calls, taking reservations, and driving. All Chauffeurs are independent contractors and will receive a 1099 at the end of the year. Applicants must possess strong communication skills and enjoy driving in all road conditions. Buck Horn’s drivers work as a team in a non-competitive environment. Buck Horn supplies and maintains the vehicles.
Our pay rates exceed the national average for drivers. Chauffeurs are paid on commission. Chauffeurs retain 100% of gratuities. You will make more than an Uber driver.
Communication is essential in this position.
Drivers will need to have a smart phone that can the accept free apps used for this position.

We are seeking a full-time Reservationist/Dispatcher. Pay depends on experience. $12.35-$17.00 hour.
Applicable experience may include:
- Education and work experience
- Experience in customer service
- Experience dispatching and scheduling
- Commercial driving experience in Durango
- Number of years living in La Plata County
Job Description:
This is a long term, full time, day shift position. Our reservationists primarily takes requests for transportation over the phone, but also answers email requests, provides rate quotes, and enters reservations into our system. The dispatcher makes reservations available to shift drivers and communicates with both passengers and drivers. Basic computer skills and knowledge of the area are essential. This is a customer service position for someone detail oriented looking for a long term job with a local company in Durango.
Pay is dependent on experience. Local knowledge of roads, weather conditions, and driving is required. Having an interest in cars, auto mechanics, transportation, and area attractions is helpful. Some driving may be necessary to become more familiar with the area. Buck Horn can provide you with a cooperative, non-competitive work environment. Scheduled time off, and time off for emergencies is respected.

The Durango Wedding Expo will be held on January 13th in Durango at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. As always, Buck Horn will be there to share our transportation knowledge and answer all of your questions. In addition to our booth, we will have our new Yukon XL Denali at the Expo. For the first time, Brides and Grooms can see their prospective wedding transportation vehicle up close.

2017 Durango Film Festival
Once again, Buck Horn Limousine is proud to sponsor the 2017 Durango Film Festival. In it’s twelfth year, and with special guest Jim Belushi, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever.
