Buck Horn offers the most affordable trail head transportation to the Weminuche Wilderness and the Colorado Trail.  Shuttle hikes can be planned using our trail shuttle services and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to access the best routes in the Weminuche Wilderness. Riding the train and riding with us is cheaper and easier than renting a car and setting up your own shuttle.

Our high clearance 4x4 Jeeps can access most of the trail heads in the San Juan Mountains.

All trailhead pickups and drop offs are billed hourly, garage to garage. Unknown access routes may be deemed impassable by our drivers. Passengers may hike to or from this point of termination or re-route if time permits. Weather, road conditions and obstructions may also affect the access and create a termination point.

Our Trail Shuttle drivers include lifelong locals and experienced Weminuche mountaineers. We can help you plan your shuttle hike route through the Weminuche Wilderness.

Trail Shuttle Rates:

• $60.00 hourly for sedan (up to 3 passengers)
• $85.00 hourly for stretch Jeep Wagoneer (up to 5 passengers)
• Gratuity of 20% will be billed
• $50 surcharge may be assessed based on our driver's perception of road conditions
